Blizzcon 2011 Artist Stage – Diablo Bust

October 28, 2011 1 comment

Here’s something I did at this year’s Blizzcon! I have been a huge fan of Diablo II way before getting hired at Blizzard, so I thought this would be a fantastic opportunity to create my own version at Blizzcon =) This sculpt was auctioned at the event for everyone to bid, very exciting! This is also my first sculpt done with ZBrush’s new feature, Dynamesh that came out recently as well. Being up stage in front of a huge audience was definitely a great experience, I had a lot of fun talking to the fans and signing autographs :D

Polycount – Brawl Competition 2011 “Marvel vs Capcom 3 – Zero”

June 11, 2011 2 comments

Additional renders: 1 2 3 4 5 6

I’ve been a huge fan of Zero from Rockman X3 and decided to make a fan art for this competition! I basically wanted to recreate him as a next-gen model yet maintaining that original symbolic design Capcom did. Some of the challenges I faced during this creative process was to keep this model clean and reading well from a distance. I think I’ve accomplished the simplicity I was going for, and it turned out well! :D

Additional Renders: 1 2 3 4 5 6

Hey guys so I’ve looked at what most people were going for this year and made sure this wasnt going to be like the 6th similar entry..XD In the previous challenges Ive also worked on too many creatures – thought I try sumthing different for 2010. Ive been thinking about making more chicks lately.. So Im going to be making Ms.Marvel this year! Some of the things I gotta focus on is probably the face, hair, anatomy and render polishing. I received 10th place out of 300 entries this time around! =)

Digital Sculpting Mini 2010 “Final Fantasy Tribute: FFX Sin”

June 11, 2011 Leave a comment

This was like a 30 day challenge while we were crunching at work only had time to work on it after hours or during the weekend. It was difficult to get good references for this character from FFX thats for sure. I’ve been a huge fan of the FF series, and always wanted to model him in ZBrush – I picked this villain because its got a lot of fun wrinkle details to paint in. I will make a in-game version in another time

Blizzard Gallery Show 2010 “Bahamut” and “Alien Fetal Queen”

June 11, 2011 Leave a comment

Heres some new art work I’ve been working on recently during my freetime. I havent been painting much, so I thought I’d practice and get better with illustrations. The Alien Fetal Queen however took only around 3 days to complete from scratch to finish. I was experimenting with the new ZSpheresII as the base mesh. I think its definitely a powerful tool to use.
